The Powertec Starlink Mini PoE Splitter Cable has two functions:
Single Cable to Mini Dish
This splitter enables you to provide both power and data connectivity in a single PoE ethernet cable to the Starlink Mini dish. The Mini does not come with a PoE injector like the other Starlink dishes, it has its own DC barrel port for powering. This splitter cable basically allows you to power the Mini dish via PoE from a single network cable.
Extend the Cable Run to the Mini Dish
Even though the Mini dish has a 12V input, 48V is recommend over medium to long cable runs to avoid voltage drop and the dish cutting out under load. When used in conjunction with a DC/DC Power Converter this cable will provide 48V to the mini dish resulting in you being able to run much longer cables to power the Mini dish.
